2022 at Cambridge Crossing was a year to get together with friends and family, meet new neighbors, discover local food and beverage, enjoy outdoor music, fitness, and movies (even with our furry friends!), and mainly, feel that we all belong to an incredible community in a vibrant and welcoming neighborhood at CX.
As this year comes to an end, we look back at some of our milestones and the opportunities that allowed us to enjoy ourselves together. Here’s a look at all we accomplished:
Welcomed a few new neighbors…
Lamplighter Brewing Co. opened their brewery and taproom at CX in The Shed.
Sanofi officially moved into 350 and 450 Water street, bringing together nearly 3,000 Massachusetts-based employees to One Sanofi.
Park 151 welcomed its first residents to the highly amenitized, 20-story, 468-unit multifamily building located at 151 North First Street.
Reached major milestones…
The Green Line Extension was completed and opened the new Lechmere Station that offers visitors a stop at CX’s front door.
Topped off our 5th life science building, 441 Morgan Avenue, a state-of-the-art 375,000 SF life science building offering tenants several outdoor terraces and direct access to a 5-acre park.
Reconnected with the community and saw record-breaking attendance numbers…
CX Summer Nights
Our signature event series, in partnership with the ECBA, brought together more than 8,000 attendees to enjoy free live music, lawn games, food trucks, local brews and drinks, and ways to support the local community.
CX Movie Nights
With more than 1,000 attendees this year, our partners at the ECBA helped us put on another successful free double-feature movie series in the Maria Baldwin Open Space and the new Dawes Field at CX.
CX Fit
Together with Club High-Rise, our free outdoor fitness series saw more than 1,550 participants this year for our 4th season of CX Fit.
REI Co-op 5k at CX
REI and the ECBA hosted the first 5K at Cambridge Crossing this past June, seeing more than 1,500 runners from all over Massachusetts. The course ran through the CX neighborhood and ended with a post-race celebration block party in front of REI’s new store at CX.
KSQ Challenge Block party at CX
The Kendall Square Association hosted the Kendall Square Challenge with 45 teams and 400+ Kendall Square professionals to tackle missions and reconnect. The block party was hosted in the Common at CX where challenge winners were announced and $60,000 was awarded to 5 local charities.
Unveiled and celebrated two art installations…
HERstory:
A CX Collection of Trailblazing Women, CX’s newest art installation, is displayed at The Shed and honors the legacies and accomplishments of six women who have shaped Cambridge and well beyond.
